Data Manager/Analyst

We seek a well-qualified data manager to draw analytical files and run statistical programming from large administrative databases. This full time position is part of a successful research unit that develops and tests treatment system strategies for improving care in addictions. We work collaboratively with government agencies to develop and evaluate system interventions that improve healthcare for individuals with substance use disorders.

The data manager will be responsible for preparing large administrative datasets for analysis, including cleaning data, creating summary variables, conducting summary statistics, and conducting analyses. The position will require expertise with database management programming (i.e., SQL) and working knowledge of statistical analysis (SAS or STATA preferred). The ideal candidate will have a social or behavioral science research background, experience with healthcare claims, excellent analytical and communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively within a team while balancing multiple projects.

Two years’ work experience and Master’s degree preferred. 

Clinical Training Assistant Director

The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse seeks an experienced addiction treatment professional to manage a program of consultation, training, and technical assistance efforts for treatment programs on the operational changes needed to succeed under New York’s Medicaid reform initiatives. Primary responsibilities include supporting regional learning communities throughout New York State focused on clinical and business redesign or restructuring. This position will assist program leadership and providers transition to a carve-in model with managed care organizations.

The ideal candidate will be a New York Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) with 2-3 years clinical experience, administrative/managerial background, and experience with change management strategies (e.g., NiATX, process improvement). Skill and ease in public speaking and leading webinars a must.  A Master’s degree in a behavioral health field required; knowledge of healthcare business practices, and experience working with managed care organizations are highly desired.
